MiWay, Mississauga’s public transit provider, is set to implement changes to nine bus routes starting in the new year to enhance service for riders. The schedule adjustments are aimed at improving service reliability as traffic and ridership patterns evolve throughout the city. These changes will take effect on January 6 and will impact the following routes:

1. Dundas (weekday, Saturday, and Sunday)
2. Hurontario (weekday)
3. Derry (weekday)
4. Rathburn (weekday)
5. Britannia (weekday, Saturday, and Sunday)
6. Derry (weekday, Saturday, and Sunday)
7. Sheridan (weekday)
8. Kamato (weekday)
9. Dundas Express (weekday and Saturday)

Transit officials anticipate more schedule adjustments in the future to ensure services remain responsive to customer needs. The next set of changes is scheduled for February 24. For further details, riders can visit MiWay’s website.

In addition to these upcoming changes, several updates have already been made to MiWay services. A new bus route, Route 31 Ogden, will replace the temporary Ogden Shuttle and provide service to Dixie Outlet Mall, along with other areas. This route will operate seven days a week. Service along Ogden Avenue, previously part of Route 5 Dixie, has now been permanently removed.

MiWay also announced that from December 23 to January 5, all buses will follow a holiday schedule to match customer demand. During this period, the 300-series bus routes serving high school students will be suspended. On New Year’s Eve, all MiWay bus rides will be free from 7 p.m. on December 31 until 4 a.m. on January 1.
