Several vehicles were damaged, but no serious injuries were reported after an SUV crashed into a bank at a shopping mall in the northern part of Mississauga on Sunday afternoon.

According to Peel Regional Police, the crash occurred around 2:30 p.m. when the driver lost control and drove into the front of the bank at Westwood Mall in Malton. The driver sustained only minor injuries.

Reports indicate the SUV had been waiting in line at a nearby drive-thru when, for unknown reasons, it suddenly accelerated, struck multiple parked cars, and then collided with the bank.

Police stated on social media that the driver’s injuries were minor and the incident appears to have been medically related.

Emergency crews, including police, firefighters, and paramedics, responded to the scene.
