Two Mississauga residents have been charged with drug offenses after police discovered heroin, crystal meth, and nearly $50,000 in cash during a raid at a residence in the city’s north end.
On February 14, officers from the Peel Regional Police executed a search warrant at a home near Goreway Drive and Brandon Gate Drive in Malton, uncovering:
1.10 kg of crystal methamphetamine
194.9 g of heroin
213 suspected opiate pills
$46,145 in Canadian currency
The search was carried out by the 12 Division Community Incident Response Team, which focuses on patrolling specific areas in the east end of the city to address targeted crimes. During the operation, a child was safely removed from the home.
Sarbinder Kaur, 27, and Manthan Sharma, 25, were arrested and charged with multiple counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, specifically heroin and methamphetamines. Both were held for bail hearings and appeared in the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
Peel police Chief Nishan Duraiappah praised the investigation, emphasizing the importance of the officers’ work in protecting the community. “This investigation is another reminder of the critical work our officers do every day to protect our community,” he said, adding that the drug seizure disrupted an alleged harmful criminal network in Mississauga and, importantly, ensured the child’s safety by removing them from a dangerous environment.
Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Peel police at 905-453-2121, ext. 1228, or reach out anonymously to Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
