Earlier this afternoon, Peel Regional Police responded to a stabbing near Derry Road and Rexwood Road at approximately 5:30 p.m. A man was discovered with stab wounds and was subsequently transported to the hospital, where he remains in stable condition receiving treatment.
Authorities have not disclosed additional information about the victim, including his identity, age, or place of residence.
Police describe the suspect in custody as a woman. They continue to search for a second suspect described as a man aged between 40 and 50 years old, with a thin build and blonde hair tied in a ponytail. He is without a fixed address and was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt and beige pants, carrying a black backpack.
It remains unclear whether the stabbing was a targeted assault or if there existed any prior connection between the victim and the suspects. Investigators are actively examining the circumstances leading up to the incident.
Due to ongoing police activity, authorities have advised of a heightened presence in the vicinity, urging motorists to seek alternate routes where possible.
