The event begins at 7 p.m. inside Hammerson Hall.
Carolyn Parrish, who previously served on Mississauga city council and as an MP in Ottawa, emerged victorious in a competitive race against three sitting councillors to succeed former mayor Bonnie Crombie. Parrish’s priorities as mayor include advocating for increased social services funding alongside mayors from Brampton and Caledon, as well as accelerating the construction of affordable housing in Mississauga through collaboration with developers and other stakeholders.
Following her inauguration, Parrish will preside over her first regular council meeting on Wednesday morning. She is the seventh mayor in Mississauga’s history since the city’s official incorporation in 1974, succeeding a lineage that includes notable figures such as Hazel McCallion and Bonnie Crombie. Parrish will serve until the current council term concludes in fall 2026.
