An intersection in Mississauga has reopened after a man was found there with injuries.
The location is in the Erin Mills neighbourhood, at the intersection of Drummond Street and Colonial Drive, north of Burnhamthorpe Road West, between Highway 403 and Winston Churchill Boulevard.
Police initially reported that an adult male was found in the area with serious injuries and was taken to the hospital in life-threatening condition.
However, in a later update, they stated that the man’s injuries are now considered non-life-threatening and clarified that they were not caused by a collision or foul play. Investigators believe the injuries occurred “following a medical episode.”
Peel EMS told CTV News Toronto that they were called to the area at 5:48 p.m. after reports of a pedestrian and a dog being struck. They transported a man, believed to be around 60 years old, to a trauma centre with serious injuries. The dog was unharmed, according to paramedics.
It was also reported that the vehicle involved did not remain at the scene.
