One of the most impactful and heartfelt campaigns was for Muhammad Saleem, a 55-year-old husband and father of three, tragically killed in an eight-vehicle collision on September 20. Over 1,700 donors rallied to support Saleem’s family, raising $124,678—more than double the original $50,000 goal, which was adjusted four times due to overwhelming generosity.
Milton led all Ontario communities, with Brampton and Thunder Bay closely following in sixth and eighth place, respectively.
At the top of the national list, Victoria, B.C., claimed first place for the second consecutive year, with 19,500 donors and an extraordinary 21.3% per capita donation rate.
“From small acts of kindness to major community efforts, Canadians continue to show their unwavering commitment to lending a helping hand,” said Tim Cadogan, CEO of GoFundMe.
