Items Needed for Liam’s Mission Fundraiser
As winter’s chill settles in, a local mother and son are heating things up with their latest charitable effort.
Deana and Liam Wilson, fresh from a successful holiday toy drive, are calling on the community to lend their support for an online auction benefiting the Toronto Hospital for Sick Children.
The hospital holds a special place in their hearts, as nine-year-old Liam frequently visits due to his ongoing battle with cystic fibrosis.

The hospital holds a special place in their hearts, as nine-year-old Liam frequently visits due to his ongoing battle with cystic fibrosis.
To give back through the growing initiative known as Liam’s Mission, Liam – a recipient of a Make-a-Wish gift last fall – and his supporters will host the online auction from February 28 to March 14.
Several items have already been donated, including Maple Leafs and Raptors memorabilia, and more contributions are being welcomed at dlwilson349@gmail.com.
“The generosity we’ve received means the world to us,” shared Deana, who hopes to include a vacation getaway in the auction. A special events page will soon be available on the Liam’s Mission Facebook page for all auction details.
In addition to the auction, a newly formed partnership with Sam Iris, a local beauty salon owner, will see 50% of proceeds from various services – including haircuts, makeup, waxing, and more – throughout February donated to Sick Kids. Appointments can be made by emailing Irs_sam@hotmail.com.
Meanwhile, Liam is set to turn 10 on Valentine’s Day and will celebrate by launching a community-wide colouring project featuring Phoenix the Fox. Participants are encouraged to download the colouring sheet and share their completed artwork using the hashtag #goalsforliam or by tagging Liam’s Mission directly.
Feel free to adjust or add anything to this!
