Phone Stolen After Facebook Marketplace Meeting in Parking Lot
A Milton resident was robbed during a late-night iPhone transaction arranged through Facebook Marketplace.
According to Const. Ryan Anderson of Halton Police, the victim met a potential buyer around 11 p.m. on Saturday (Dec. 21) in a parking lot on Holly Ave. After handing over the phone for inspection, the buyer allegedly jumped into a black Acura SUV and sped off, taking the phone with him.

According to Const. Ryan Anderson of Halton Police, the victim met a potential buyer around 11 p.m. on Saturday (Dec. 21) in a parking lot on Holly Ave. After handing over the phone for inspection, the buyer allegedly jumped into a black Acura SUV and sped off, taking the phone with him.
The suspect is described as a man in his mid-20s, about 5’7″ tall, with a heavy build, brown hair, and brown eyes. Investigators believe the Facebook profile used by the buyer is fake.
No arrests have been made.
