Just a few weeks ago, many were lamenting the LCBO strike that shuttered stores across Ontario. Now, with the labor unrest behind us and stores back in operation, residents of Mississauga’s south end are celebrating the opening of a new LCBO location in Port Credit.
A post on Port Credit Life, a community Facebook group, announced that the new store at the corner of Lakeshore and Mississauga Roads is now open. Situated on the southwest corner of the intersection, it’s part of the Brightwater development.
Resident and Port Credit Life group admin Brian Lambie shared in his post, “You can now fuel up where the gas station used to be. It looks fantastic, and the selection seems bigger and better than what we’re used to in Port Credit. I’m not sure how many people know they’re open yet.”
The new LCBO is among several major retailers opening or planning to open in the Brightwater community. This development, which will eventually include 3,000 new homes, spans 72 acres along Mississauga’s waterfront and is being developed by Port Credit West Village Partners. In addition to new housing, it will feature 300,000 sq. ft. of commercial, restaurant, retail, and office space, as well as 18 acres of green space.
