A cyclist was hospitalized after a collision with a vehicle at a busy Mississauga intersection on Tuesday night.

Peel Regional Police reported that the incident occurred around 9 p.m. at the intersection of Burnhamthorpe Road and Dixie Road.

The male cyclist, believed to be in his 40s, was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening or life-altering, according to police.

The vehicle involved remained at the scene.

The intersection was closed for an extended period but reopened to traffic shortly after 10 p.m.
