A tentative contract agreement has been reached for nearly 3,000 private-sector security screeners at Pearson Airport in Mississauga.

These screeners are tasked with screening passengers and their belongings at Canada’s busiest airport.

The potential strike, scheduled during a peak travel period, was averted as approximately 130,000 passengers were expected to transit through the airport last Saturday.

Union members are set to vote on approving the deal within the next week, according to a union spokesperson.
