Drivers are advised to exercise extra caution as traffic lights are out at several intersections in the eastern part of Mississauga on Wednesday morning.

Peel Regional Police reported a power outage affecting the intersection of Tomken Road and Rathburn Road East, causing the traffic signal to malfunction.

In a social media post, police warned, “Intersections in the surrounding area will also be impacted by the power outage. Approach non-functioning traffic lights with caution and treat them as a four-way stop.”

The power outage was reported to authorities just before 8:30 a.m.

Drivers are also encouraged to take alternate routes.
