Starting March 3, 2025, the Town of Milton will introduce a Licence Plate Recognition (LPR) system to enhance parking enforcement and community safety. This new system features cameras mounted on bylaw enforcement vehicles to capture images of illegally parked or stopped vehicles.
The LPR system will automatically issue tickets for parking violations. Registered vehicle owners will receive tickets by mail, including details of the violation, an image of the vehicle and licence plate, and instructions on how to pay or dispute the ticket.

The LPR system will automatically issue tickets for parking violations. Registered vehicle owners will receive tickets by mail, including details of the violation, an image of the vehicle and licence plate, and instructions on how to pay or dispute the ticket.
Since there may be a delay between the infraction and the ticket’s delivery, vehicles parked in violation on consecutive days could receive multiple tickets before the owner is notified of the initial infraction.
The LPR program will focus on enforcement in school zones, community safety zones, and areas with overnight on-street parking restrictions.
Parking tickets or penalty notices can be paid online or in person at Town Hall.
To dispute a ticket, you must submit a review request within 30 days of the ticket’s issuance. Failure to respond by the due date—either by paying the fine or scheduling a review—will result in the automatic waiver of your right to appeal and an additional administrative fee.
